In April 2023, following Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory action, CDC simplified COVID-19 vaccine recommendations. The changes allow people at higher risk to get added protection from additional COVID-19 vaccine doses.

The federal government announced that COVID-19 vaccine will transition to the commercial marketplace–likely in Fall 2023.

Addressing vaccine safety
Report after-vaccine adverse events to CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
CDC discontinued enrollment in v-safe for COVID-19 vaccines on May 19, 2023. Patients can report any adverse events using VAERS.
